nothing beats an evening boat session. the waves, the glassy conditions, the golden light, and the great smiles. i wish i could surf till sunset for the rest of my life.
usually when my friends give me sashimi, they give me the whole fish, tell me cut it up, and give them the back fillets of sashimi. haha. but when Kyle gives me sashimi, it’s perfectly cut, wrapped, and packaged. all i have to do is come home, slice a few pieces, dip it into shoyu/wasabi, and let it melt in my mouth. that’s exactly what i did last night.
fresh mahimahi and opelu kala. so good! thanks Kyle!
i took Takeda-san and Michiko-san to surf Haleiwa on a beautiful morning. beautiful rides and beautiful waves!
Takeda-san and Michiko-san, you both surfed so good!!! keep on surfing and see you again in hawaii!
Fresh Sashimi!

Naoka is our web designer for Go-Naminori. he’s been working hard for years on keeping the site rolling right along with the new trends. good to have him here in hawaii for the next 2 weeks. we went to eat 678 yakiniku last night and i noticed the quality in the meat wasn’t as good as it was before. and once i experience loss of quality in any restaurant, it will be my last time dining there. so bye bye 678.
went for an early morning surf with Naoka and Daisuke at diamond head. had a super fun session and felt so good surfing with the golden sun rising. when we came in, you could see the west swells wrapping into town so i knew it was going to come up!
then went to Kyle’s house in kaneohe. we did some editing for the upcoming Hawaii Skin Diver TV next month, checked out his boat, and talked about upcoming trips. i think it’s about time to start blocking off my calendar to explore the world! don’t know why this photo turned out so dark but it did. sorry. oh, and thanks Kyle for the sashimi!
then headed over to Wade Tokoro’s house to talk story. i’ve known Wade for almost 30 years. super longtime friendship continues.
then came back town, took a nap, and headed out for an evening session at bowls. omg, the waves were head high and super long! surfed until the sunset.
such a great day watching the sunrise and sunset surfing. i’m pretty tired as tomorrow will be another long day. better go to sleep, have some cool dreams, and wake up at 4am. good night.
