i took musician Junya to my friends shop called Dan’s Guitars. Junya’s first trip to hawaii, and his first ukulele. we jumped in my car and he started jamming some tunes already. what a talented kid!

diamond head was the biggest spot today. ala moana side was really small but super fun. tomorrow is going to be small again so thinking about going for a quick dive. will have to decide in the morning.

and had lunch with pro cameraman Kenji Sahara. good to see Kenji in hawaii. always happy! hey Kenji, i seen you get some good waves this afternoon at rockpiles. good surfing!

Diamond Head chest high and fun!

i was going through some of my old photos and found this one. this was about 4 years ago in the mentawai. Sansoucci2 in the background, Tokura-san getting towed, and Tim driving the dingy. this is one of those moments why us surfers love our life.

wanted to say hello to Masato-san over there in Akita. thank you for always sharing the great news about taking the kids surfing. i’m so stoked your son is surfing at the young age of 4 years old. please tell Shoei-kun i said to “keep on surfing!” and thank you for the comment on the video i took of Marin the other day at bowls. the smiles on the kids faces are priceless! when you go to see Kat play live in Akita, please go up to her and tell her i said hello! aloha.
