had a great time surfing today. took 10 people surfing throughout the day and the waves were perfect! i think i did enough weight lifting juggling big heavy longboards all day long. feel so good to see the smiles after rides. love every minute of it! got home just now from a long day and it’s 10pm. got to get ready for another long day tomorrow!

had a morning session with Miyuki-san, Hideo-san, and Koichi-san. a super fun family! stoked to see them catch so many good waves. keep on surfing guys!

then ate rainbow drive in. when i was going to college, i ate there every single day. i use to order the small locomoco because it was cheap and i didn’t have any money. i think it only use to cost $2.50 or something. today, i had my favorite chili plate. then we went straight to waiola shave ice for dessert.

then had a great afternoon session with Team INA. all 8 of us paddled out at the same time and took over the ocean. i’m pretty sure some of the other surfers out there don’t like me anymore. haha. then a wonderful italian dinner, then some live music sitting in front of the sunset and stars sipping on drinks. what an amazing day! the people i meet through surfing is priceless! thank you all for a wonderful time.
better get to sleep because tomorrow’s going to be another action packed day!
Everybody Go-Naminori!
Everybody Go-Naminori!
Once in a Lifetime?

have you ever seen waterfalls high from the clouds falling into the ocean? the first time in my life i seen such a tall waterfall was in molokai 4 years ago. that was from a boat. the second time was 2 days ago from a helicopter. we did a circle island tour of molokai before we got dropped off at our castle and i couldn’t believe how beautiful the island was from the air. i was speechless! wait till you see the photos i took from my good camera.

i don’t think too many people hire 2 helicopters filled with 10 friends to get dropped off in front of a vacation rental. our driver who owns the helicopter company told me it was the first time for him. i seriously felt like president obama or something. haha.

at sunset time, the pupus came out. fresh molokai spicy tako poke, molokai kalua pig, and molokai smoked deer meat. tasted so good with the cold beers! thank you to our private chef Gene!

then our entertainment for the night was practicing their live music. Junya, Satoko, and Inaida-san getting ready for the wild live music night to follow. they can sing soooo good!

then after dinner, the show began! 4 hours of live music. from japanese hits, to blues, to neil diamond, to eagles, to originals. i can’t believe how talented this group is. i wish i knew how to play an instrument or at least sing decently. i felt helpless. but i really enjoyed the variety of songs they played. it made everybody so joyful and happy!

then we fly back to oahu, load up the truck with our boards, and go naminori. it felt so good to be in the water on our boards. only a few surfers out and we were all glad to be back home. Yuki-san’s been surfing so good!

singer/guitarist Inaida-san strumming his surfboard. Inaida-san caught a wave from the outside all the way to the rock wall. the longest wave of his life. he didn’t even have to paddle back in. an amazing ride!

Junya is a very talented guy. his singing and guitar playing is like a professional. his first time surfing and i’m pretty sure Junya is already hooked on surfing. he was surfing and singing on this wave. i have it on video! haha.
before i went on this trip to molokai, i told myself “this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.” then when i thought about it, it’s not a once in a lifetime opportunity. everybody enjoyed it so much that i think we’re going back in the near future. i just need some time to recover from having so much fun!
