Baja Mexico: Day 1

photo 1
i like visiting new places. and this is for sure a new place. yes, i’ve been to mexico before. been to tijuana and puerto escondido, but never to Baja Mexico. so coming here is pretty dam exciting!

everybody bought all the right gear. for me, i’m a little worried because i packed really light being that i have to fly to japan straight from here. i have 2 guns, not the biggest, but if the fish comes close enough, i will spear it in the tail. and after looking at everybody’s equipment, i know what i’ll buy myself for christmas this year. a bungie cord, a good float, and a super blue water gun. this is going to be a very good learning experience for me because i heard there are some huge fish around here. we shall find out tomorrow early morning.

we made this mexican porter sweat carrying all of our gear.

then when we stepped outside of the airport, it was pretty hot. i wonder how many degrees it is here?
photo 5
stopped to buy some drinks and stuff. check out my cool cart. haha.

these rooms are called “casitas” and is where we will be staying for the next 4 night. super cool and colorful!

and since this is a dive resort, fresh fish is on the menu every night. i’m sure we will be eating what we catch tomorrow.

we got briefed, we will be going out tomorrow early morning 2 divers per boat, and all my eyes will be looking for is something huge! the next 4 days of all day diving so stay tuned for a lot of action! i’m going to try to sleep but i’m sure i’ll wake up at 2am because i’m pretty excited! goodnight!

Heaven on Earth

wow, what a long flight from HNL to SFO. i get on my united flight and couldn’t believe how small my seat was. i was in economy and the flight was full. no leg room, no elbow room, and no flat seat. i was so tried and wanted to sleep but couldn’t. 5 hours later, i’m getting off the flight with a stiff neck, sore back, and no sleep. Kyle told me “welcome back to the real world.” haha. i thought to myself “i don’t like the real world anymore.” haha. just joking. i just don’t remember the seats being so small. but here at San Fran airport waiting to get on another small seat to Los Cabo. hopefully i’ll get some sleep.
traveling with a cool Red Sea group. feeling relaxed, no stress, and everybody anxious to get into the water. it’s a long trip there, but once we do our first dive, it will all be worth it.

checking in is always weird at the airport with a case full of spearguns. when they ask, never say gun! say fishing gear. the lady that checked me in was really nice. she kept on calling me “love.” and i felt loved. that’s the aloha we have here in hawaii. nowhere else in the world.

and if this is what heaven looks like, i can’t wait to get there. nature stuff like this fascinates me. makes me want to jump out of the airplane.

we land in SFO earlier and i watch as one of our spear cases opened on the flight. hopefully they put it all back. we shall see.
well, going to board the flight. be in mexico in 3 hours. then a 2 hour drive to where we will stay. stay tuned for photos! viva mexico!
