remember the old time cartoon “The Jetsons?” well, it was about a space family that flew around in their car. i remember watching it and thinking how cool that was. that was 30 years ago.

ok, it’s been a fun summer so far. medium size south swells since february. but guess what? the first big south swell of the year is finally coming. starting friday into next week monday, expect 6′ solid south swells with perfect off shore winds. yeah!

i still remember the first time i visited a third world country. it was 30 years ago in bali, when bali use to be bali. now bali is waikiki. but i remember just looking out of the window of our surf car just super culture shocked. then i went to the philippines and it was even more third world. before it was scary, now, it’s fun. i would have never eaten street food but that’s all i eat now. i went to this store in the philippines on my last trip to buy water and homemade lumpia. it was pretty dam good.

everything is colorful in the philippines. lot’s of green and orange. i stopped by this shop and had one of my best fruit smoothies ever.

yes, a lot of people thought i was a filipino. it was pretty funny telling them i’m from hawaii.

cheap and efficient way of getting from island to island in a country that has more than 7,000 islands. i wish i had my fishing pole.

and yes, anywhere in the world, you will find a sunset. sipping a san migul beer and eating pork adobo this evening, i felt like i was in waipahu. haha. just joking.
if you haven’t visited the philippines before, i totally recommend you do. the nicest people and the most interesting food in the world. enjoy!
