i wanted to congratulate my 16 year old nephew joshua moniz for making the family and hawaii proud. josh surfed his way into the 64 round up against the best pro surfers in the world. i was so proud watching him so composed. his time has come and we’ve all been waiting for it. i can’t wait to see where this professional career will take him. good job josh! we are all proud of you!

well, if things go as planned, i will be in argentina after 3 long flights. why argentina? i don’t know, maybe because of the song Madonna sang “Don’t Cry for me Argentina.” i have no clue what to expect. all i know is that is where i’m starting as i booked a one way ticket. where i’m finishing? your guess is as good as mine. but i’m so dam excited!!!!

argentina is known for the tango dance. i’m taking classes for sure. when i was young, i thought dancing was for weird people. now, it’s pretty cool to be able to dance.

then i have my eyes on bolovia, uruguay, panama, and las vegas to finish it off. haha. just joking about las vegas. but i’ve always dreamed of going to south america and this is my golden opportunity. i just hope i can find a place to stay when i get there. it will be a culture shock experience for me but i love shock experiences! bon voyage amigo!

Surfed 4.5 hours!!! Hawaii Saiko!

a lot of people don’t know what this fish is called. it’s called a “Uku” and is served in a lot of fine dining restaurants in hawaii. these fish are hard to spear. very smart but there is a trick to catch one. if you see one swimming in the deep blue water, dive down to the bottom, lay there, shake some sand around, don’t look at them in the eye, look away from them, they will come in, then turn to the side when they come close. then take the shot in the head, fight it on the way back up and make sure you don’t black out or drown. and once you secure it, put a knife in the head and kill it.

then take a photo with a big smile, cut it into filets, eat sashimi, or steam it chinese style. either way, a gourmet dinner. enjoy!
