good morning. 7 am aloha friday. we still have the south swell rolling into town. bowls looks head high and pretty fun. i’ve been surfing diamond head and it’s been uncrowded. in fact, going there right now. have a great day!!!

yesterday was my 6 month check up since my eye surgery. i was kind of worried because a small part of my eye was starting to get red again. again? yeah, same eye, same redness. so when my doctor went to take a look, i was expecting the worst. surgery again? 3x? no way. my doctor looked into my eye and said, “oh, there is one more stitch that didn’t dissolve.” he took the knife, cut open a part of my eye, got the sharp tweezers and pulled it out. was i scared? not at all. i’ve been through it so many times that you can poke me with a chopstick in my eye and i wouldn’t cringe. anyway, the naughty stitch came out and that was it. he said my eye was perfect!!! that made me pretty happy!!! thanks Dr. Rhodes…
hey, i asked my doctor to give me a special price for japanese that want to get their eye surgery done here in hawaii. he’s working it out now and i should know shortly. it ain’t going to be cheap but this doctor does it the right way and when it comes to your eyes, you don’t want to do it any other…

my doctors office had the hawaii fishing newspaper so i was reading it while waiting. this guy 3 pronged or “pole speared” this 101 lbs. ulua or GT. can you believe that? the fish had 3 big hooks in the mouth so 3 unlucky fisherman came up short. anyway, great story. i’m sharpening my 3 prong right now….

this photo was pretty funny. i see so many people in hawaii go to the boat shop, but a boat, and try to put it into the water. it ain’t easy, especially when you do it the wrong way. oh my gosh!!!

i was wondering who planted this palm tree in the middle of the park? who ever did it, thank you very much. i love it….

Cinco de Mayo

so there i was last night sitting on my computer at 10:30 pm. i was tired and ready to go to sleep when i get a text message from my friend. they were out drinking in town celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo isn’t a mexican boys day, it’s spanish for “fifth of may”, a holiday that commemorates the mexican army’s unlikely victory over the french army at the battleof puebla in 1862.
anyway, it was either go sleep and wake up at 2, 3 and 5 am due to my extreme case of jetlag? or go out with the boys, have a few drinks, and sleep like a baby. i chose the second. i jumped in the truck and raced down. since it was a mexican holiday, i drank mexican beer: Corona[:?????????:]

after bar 1, we went to bar 2. the boys jumped into the truck and we were driving around town like how we use to do it in high school. pretty funny. i had to take a photo of this. haha…

there’s a cool new bar in waikiki. good food, good vibe, and good fun. 2 bottles of ichiko and we were done. i forgot the bars name but i’ll be back there again for sure. outside had this cool doggy. and outside also had a big fight between japanese girls. 3 girls yelling at each other in kansai ben, throwing shoes, security guards, and almost the police. i tried to stop the fight twice but couldn’t. so i stayed and watched. it was pretty entertaining. haha…
