My Sparkle of Joy!

Good morning 4:20am.
North shore down to waist high today.
Ala Moana knee high and barely breaking.
Diamond Head chest high wind swell.
Strong trade winds at 30mph.
Sun, showers, and huge rainbows.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

Starlight Foiling

when i got to the North Shore this morning, i couldn’t believe how many stars were out!  i was watching the stars while listening to the pounding waves.  it was peaceful, but yet nervous.  driving out in the dark not knowing how big the waves are is pretty nerve racking.

thank goodness i took out my Dove Impact Suit today because the waves were pretty big!  my first wave i was going so fast that if i fell, i’d bounce really hard off the ocean surface.  the waves were super powerful today!

when ever we get back to the harbor, we’re always thankful that nobody got hurt.  there are so many things that can go wrong so making it back safely is very humbling.

paddle in foiling is an individual sport.  but tow in foiling is a team effort.  you need to have a good partner you can trust because your life is basically in their hands.  i am so grateful to have good experienced partners.  what these guys taught me in the past year is priceless.  thanks boys!

Mom is Always Right

this is the corner of my yard.  i’ve been cutting down those palm looking trees in the back for years now.  my Mom would get mad and tell me how expensive those plants are.  i would just chop it down anyway because i wanted to clean out that area.  my initial plan is to cut it all down and grow grass.

i just went to the nursery to buy some grass.  then i saw those same Rhapis plants i’ve been cutting down.  there was a price tag so i looked to see how much it was.

OMG!!!  it was $129 for one baby plant!!!!  i couldn’t believe it.  so now i decided not to cut them all down.  and i also decided to listen to my Mom, because Mothers are always right…

i did cut down my gardenia plant because it got way too big.  now i want to see it grow again.  i planted this when Mateus was born so it has a lot of meaning…
