Koguma-san and i went searching for waves this morning. and the only place breaking on the South shore was Diamond Head. perfect for the 2 of us!
Koguma-san is an expert small wave competitive surfer. he was surfing better than me so i just watched from the side and learned…

then the rainbow shows up again!!! so lucky to see a rainbow at Diamond Head like this. and so lucky there was nobody out??? yesterday nobody at Kaisers, and today nobody at Diamond Head? where is everybody? it’s only been us and the rainbows!
so yeah, we went surfing and hiking this morning. a great exercise morning. good job Koguma-san!
i still can’t believe how many times the rainbows came out yesterday. it was the most i’ve seen in a single day for sure…
Ai-san got way better than last year. she’s been practicing and it shows. since she’s at a comfortable level, i taught her how to cross step. 
and just like that, she pulls off her first cross step of her life!
then after she makes the first one, i tell her “cross step again!” and here it is! two perfect cross steps on a single wave. i’m pretty sure she will be hanging 5 soon…
Ai-san is a perfect example of “practice makes perfect.” watching her surf is very enjoyable!
