went to visit the Hotel Manago on the Big Island. both Matsu and my brother said we must try it and i always believe in them.
look at the front desk of the old school hotel.
established in 1917? omg, that’s so old! and so classy…
try the pork chops and you won’t be disappointed. look how happy the honeymooners were! haha…
Hawaii’s oldest restaurant: over 100 years! that’s so amazing!!! i can’t wait to go back there again!
i’m sure Nori-san can’t wait to go back to Bowls again today. yesterday he arrived and look what he was greeted with! the waves were absolutely perfect!
i was following him and watching some nice riding. it was so cool!
then Alissa Quizon paddled out and showed everybody how Bowls is supposed to be surfed. omg, she was ripping!
thank you Nori-san! you surfed so good and i was happy to see you ride all those perfect waves!
people are asking me over and over about taking them to swim with the dolphins. i tell them it’s not guaranteed you will see them, but i’ve been a very lucky guy when it comes to finding them. and when i find them, i just swim along and look right into their beautiful eyes. it’s so lovely…
i can’t guarantee you that we’ll see the dolphins, but i can guarantee you we will find big opihi like this. and i can guarantee you that putting this on the BBQ grill and eating it with a cold beer at sunset will make you melt. and if you swim with the dolphins in the morning and BBQ opihi at night like we did, you won’t want to go home…

Always searching for the perfect wave. Nori-san @ Ala Moana Bowls…
Good morning Ala Moana chest high and perfect.
Diamond Head shoulder high and getting bumpy.
Trade winds back at 20mph.
Sunny and warm.
Going cleaning and surfing.
Have a wonderful day!
Coolest Uncle @ World! Cold water @ Indonesia?
another day in the ocean with Renta-kun. i’m amazed on how strong this kid is getting. i can see his body getting stronger, and his confidence too.
the waves were kind of big this morning but Renta-kun isn’t scared at all. he was riding waves all by himself and enjoying the ride like this!
he must have dove under 50 waves today. no wonder he said he was tired after. haha. but all this training is making this kid 100x stronger physically and mentally.
good job Renta-kun. i’m super proud of you watching you transform into a surfer boy!
seen a familiar surfboard so i asked this guy how he got it. he said “from Uncle James.” i told him, “you’re Uncle James is the coolest Uncle in the world.” i’m sure he knows that too because Uncle James is the coolest Uncle in the world. nice to meet you Matthew.
then picked up Nori-san this afternoon and this was his very first wave at Bowls. omg, the waves were pumping and not too many surfers out. we scored!
Toda-san and Takami-san arrived in South Sumatra. gosh, i miss this place. and now they have a pool??? wow!
maybe i’ll go back there someday. but after hearing from them that the water is freezing now, maybe not. haha. a very cold current is passing by Indonesia now so you will need a wetsuit if you go. i felt the coldness before and it’s pretty dam cold…
want to thank Nagaishi-san for the gift. a new knife!
the next fish i catch, i’m going to use this knife to make sashimi. can’t wait!
