it’s like a dream for me to hear all the talk in the surfing world about my nephews. everywhere i go, people tell me “wow, your nephews are doing good yeah?” and of course i say “yeah.” i’m so proud of all of them. and it’s also a dream for me to see the kids traveling to the same places i’ve been too. i remember the beginning of last year when the kids were getting all excited about their mentawai trip. i’ve been going to the mentawai’s ever since the mentawai’s was discovered. each and every year, i would dream about my nephews being able to experience what i have someday. i knew how excited they will be, and i knew it will change their life. Tony, Micah, Isaiah, Joshua, and Seth Moniz all on one boat in 2014. and Kelia was also in the mentawai’s the same time on a different boat. what a trip! i still can’t believe i couldn’t go on that trip. but i know someday i will be able to join another one of their dream trips. but in the meantime, check out this amazing video that’s being seen all over the world. it’s the kids blowing up in the mentawai’s! top level surfing by top level surfers. enjoy!

heard that one of my friends opened up a sandwich shop in kaimuki. went there before but was closed. so today, i tried again and it was open. super cool shop!! can feel the surf scene.

check out the wall of vintage skateboards. so cool!

a very healthy menu, good quality ingredients, and surf inspired sandwiches. i ordered “The Floater.”

nice take out packaging.

i’d have to say this sandwich was fresh and delicious! all kind of goodies with melted cheese. cost $9 including tax and to me was well worth it. next time i will try the pastrami sandwich. a great shop i will visit again. go-sprout!
