had a beautiful drive from sendai to ishinomaki yesterday as it started to snow. it felt like christmas!!! i was so happy to see snow!!!

yes, it’s minus 4 degrees but it feels so good!

coming up here is like going up to tantalus in hawaii. the most beautiful view in tohoku.

had an awesome dinner with Naomi-san last night. the strongest woman in the world!

omg, the sashimi is so good! fresh! my favorite was the whale!

then Azumi-san came to meet us later. one of the coolest surfers in the world.

heading over to kobochihama now. going to be another cold day but the warm hearts and smiles will make our day. see you there!

2:30am. Ishinomaki Ramen.

there is no wave similar to this in hawaii. a long point break just peeling perfectly. at times, there were only a few people out. just wave after wave like a machine. if this was hawaii, there would be over a hundred surfers out. if this was japan, there would be 200 people out. but this is taiwan and that’s the reason i travel for. it’s sessions like this that make my life complete.

driving up and down the coast, you will find so much culture. kind of cool!

then heading to the big city 30 minutes away and eating awesome food. have lots of photos on my camera i didn’t download yet. going back to hawaii soon and will get it done. stay tuned.

see that big black bear? yes, that black bear heading for the camera. a man was found dead killed by a black bear and when they found his iPhone, this was the last photo taken. scary.
