wow, the surf report called for super small waves today but if you were patient, you could catch some super long perfect chest high waves. not too many surfers in the water so Nakata-san and i scored!!! we surfed over 2 hours catching wave after wave.

Bend your knees!!!!

DSCN0325
I’ve been teaching this little girl how to surf since she was 2 years old. For the longest time, we’d practice out of the water. I’d say over and over, “bend your knees and look forward.” I kind of programmed it in her mind as it’s the hardest thing to remember when you start off surfing. She did it over and over in and out of the water. Now when we go surfing, she never wipes out. She makes every take off, she turns, and never falls off the board. Why? It’s because she’s bending her knees and looking forward. This is perfect form! And if you can do the same thing, you can surf for sure. So remember “BEND YOUR KNEES AND LOOK FORWARD!!!!!
