it’s a plant that starts out as a flower. the flower falls off within 48 hours…
then the okura grows a few days later. everybody in japan knows how good okura tastes when you cut it up and mix it into natto. or cut it up and put it in miso soup. gosh, it’s so good. the sell okura at marukai in hawaii so get down there and try it. it’s really good and healthy….

and talking about food. darin isobe let me in on this little indian curry shop tucked in right off the main road in chigasaki. it’s called GARA and i’ve been there a couple of times. after seeing this photo, i feel like going there right now…. see ya…
