after i left kahala mall this afternoon, i drove by the the beach and found a little perfect spot, nobody out, and super fun! so i grab my longboard and paddle out for an awesome evening session all alone. i could have short boarded today but i only had 45 minutes and wanted to ride a lot of long waves. so the longboard was the call! thank you Yuki-san and Inaida-san for the photos!
windy conditions continue tomorrow. if you time it right, you might be able to find some perfect waves too. see you in the water.

Good "We Are One" News!!!!

it’s been 3 years since the earthquake/tsunami disaster in japan. so many things happened since. good, bad, and amazing. yes, people are still living in temporary housing, people are still searching for missing ones, some people moved on, some people didn’t. you will hear stories after stories and it will probably continue forever. everyday i hope for good news. everyday i hope for the best. and everyday i think about the past 3 years and what the people in tohoku had to go through. that’s what keeps me level and balanced. believe it or not, i’ve been going through some stress recently. yes, stress. i’ve been seeing greed in a person, i’ve been seen unforgiveness in a person, control in a person, and i’ve been seeing nothing to do with unconditional love in a person. when i see people these days holding on to the past like it was just yesterday, it makes me sad. i feel like the past is the past, now is now, and the future is how we are going to make of it today. it’s all in your hands on how you want to move forward and live your life. as for me, i don’t look behind. i always look forward trying to making everyday better and better.
anyway, i woke up this morning and received the 2 of the most amazing emails!
Screen shot 2014-03-16 at 2.12.11 AM
first, Miki-chan who was one of our original We Are One members recently got married and is pregnant!!! omg, i am so happy for her. a wonderful girl who joined our team and made a big difference in our missions. she went through obstacles in her own life but is now the happiest wife and mother to be in the world. getting her email brought tears of joy early this morning. congratulations Miki-chan! hope to meet your husband and son sometime soon!
t
then right after i read Miki-chan’s email, i read Matsu’s. Matsu shared with me the news of Miho-chan (kobochihama my last samurai Kimura-san’s daughter) having a sleep over at Hiyori-chan’s (We Are One Market Naomi-san’s daughter) house. i seriously had to look twice at this photo and think “huh?” then when i put it together, i broke down. yes, i cried and i’m not shame to say it. our 8 We Are One Missions have brought happiness to many. it’s moments like this that make me so happy and proud of our team and what they have done. connecting people that were total strangers and now are friends forever.

both of these girls weren’t smiling on 3/11. they are survivors that have lost loved ones i couldn’t imagine losing. both are strong now and will take their experiences and bring happiness to others. look how happy they are! omg!
To Hiyori-chan and Miho-chan,
I’m so happy your are friends now! When I saw this photo, it made me the happiest person in the world. You both have taught me how to live on through your smiles. Mia-chan misses you and wishes you can both come to Hawaii again to surf with us. Hiyori-chan, please go and give your Mother and Ryoko-san a big hug for me. I really miss them. And Miho-chan, please give your Daddy a big hug for me too. I miss him and will visit all of you this year. Today will be a very happy day for me and you will always be in my heart. We Are One Forever!
